The PGP page allows you to develop and implement a personal graduation plan (PGP) for each student in junior high/middle school or high school who does not pass the TAKS test and/or is not expected to receive a diploma before the fifth school year following his enrollment in the ninth grade. If allowed by your campus, you can update current year PGP data. PGP data for previous years cannot be updated (the Save button is disabled).
To use this system, you must have TAKS test data loaded into your system.
From the main menu, select PGP.
The PGP page is displayed allowing you to update PGP data.
The Semester
field displays the current semester by default. Click
to view another semester.
In the Course
Section field, click
to select
the course section for which you want to update PGP data.
In the Student
field, click
to select the student for whom you want to update PGP data.
Click Retrieve Data. The PGP data for the selected student is displayed.
Under PGP
Selection, in the School Year
field, click
to select the ending year for the school year for which you want to
update PGP data. For previous years, you can only view data.
In the Prepared
By field, click
to select the
teacher who is preparing the PGP.
Under Student Information, the student's ID, name, grade, and other information are displayed.
The Counselor field displays the name of the student’s counselor.
The Counselor ID field displays the ID of the student's counselor.
The Graduation Plan field displays the student's graduation plan code.
The PGP Reason field displays the reason the student is required to have a PGP for the year currently displayed. If the student is not required to have a PGP, the reason is "PGP not required."
The Credits Earned field displays the total credits earned by the student as of the current year.
The Expected Graduation Year field displays the year the student is expected to graduate. This year is determined by comparing the current school year with the year the student entered the ninth grade.
The Special Programs field displays the programs in which the student is enrolled during the year currently displayed.
The Days Absent field displays the number of days the student has been absent during the year currently displayed.
The Nbr Times Retained field displays the number of times the student has been required to repeat a grade.
Under Assessment Data, the student's TAKS test data is displayed for the two years prior to the year currently displayed.
The first TAKS column provides information about the student's TAKS scores for the year prior to the previous year.
The Met column indicates if the student met the district standard TAKS scores for each of the five subjects.
The Score column provides the student's scale score for each of the five subjects.
The +/- column indicates the difference between the student’s scale score and the district standard, whether above or below the standard, for each of the five subjects.
The second TAKS column provides information about the student's TAKS scores for the previous year.
The Met column indicates if the student met the district standard TAKS scores for each of the five subjects.
The Score column provides the student's scale score for each of the five subjects.
The +/- column indicates the difference between the student’s scale score and the district standard, whether above or below the standard, for each of the five subjects.
Under Objectives to Target, the check boxes allow you to select which objective scores do not meet the district standard for the year currently displayed. Objectives that do not apply to the student for the year currently displayed do not have check boxes. Also, if the student does not have TAKS scores for the previous two years, the objective check-boxes are not displayed.
Under Other Diagnostic/Evaluation Data, type any other diagnostic or evaluation data you want to include.
Note: If TAAS/TAKS exemption codes exist in PEIMS, the message "Exemptions Present" is displayed in the top right corner of the Assessment Data section.
Under
Student Courses, the student’s
courses and teachers are displayed for the current semester. Click
to view information for
another semester.
Under Monitoring and Intervention, you can enter and maintain information about the student's accelerated learning plans and monitoring plans.
Under Accelerated Learning Plan, the student’s accelerated learning plans are displayed, if selected.
To add or update the list of accelerated learning plans, click Edit. A list of available learning plans is displayed under Available, and a list of learning plans selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select a learning
plan for the student, select the learning plan under Available,
and then click
to add it
to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each learning plan you want to select for the student.
You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT or CTRL buttons while selecting the items.
To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove a learning
plan that was selected for the student, select the learning plan under
Selected, and then click
to remove it from the list of selected learning
plans. You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT or CTRL
buttons while selecting the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Accelerated Learning Plan is updated with the learning plans selected for the student.
To add additional
comments regarding the learning plan, click
.
The Learning Plan Note dialog box opens allowing you to add comments.
Click Close to save the comments.
The note icon is yellow
to indicate
that a note was entered.
Note: Your comments are not actually saved until you enter your PIN and click Save to save all data on the PGP page. When you click Close, it only saves your notes until you save all data on the PGP page.
Under Monitoring Plan, the student’s monitoring plans are displayed, if selected.
To add or update the list of monitoring plans, click Edit. A list of available monitoring plans is displayed under Available, and a list of monitoring plans selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select a monitoring
plan for the student, select the monitoring plan under Available,
and then click
to add it
to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each monitoring plan you want to select for the student.

To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove a monitoring
plan that was selected for the student, select the monitoring plan
under Selected, and then click
to remove it from the
list of selected monitoring plans. You can select multiple items at
one time by pressing the SHIFT
or CTRL buttons while selecting
the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Monitoring Plan is updated with the monitoring plans selected for the student.
To add additional
comments regarding the monitoring plan, click
.

Under Education Goals, you can enter and maintain information about the student's educational goals and the expectations of his parent/guardian.
Under Student Goals, the student’s educational goals are displayed, if selected.
To add or update the list of student goals, click Edit. A list of available student goals is displayed under Available, and a list of goals selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select a goal
for the student, select the goal under Available,
and then click
to add it
to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each goal you want to select for the student.
You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT or CTRL buttons while selecting the items.
To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove a goal
that was selected for the student, select the goal under Selected,
and then click
to remove
it from the list of selected goals. You can select multiple items
at one time by pressing the Shift
or Ctrl buttons while selecting
the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Student Goals is updated with the goals selected for the student.
Under Parent/Guardian Expectations, the educational expectations of the student’s parent/guardian are displayed.
To add or update the list of parent/guardian expectations, click Edit. A list of available expectations is displayed under Available, and a list of expectations selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select an expectation
for the student, select the expectation under Available,
and then click
to add it
to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each expectation you want to select for the student.

To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove an expectation
that was selected for the student, select the expectation under Selected, and then click
to remove it from the list of selected expectations. You can select
multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT
or CTRL buttons
while selecting the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Parent/Guardian Expectations is updated with the expectations selected for the student.
Under Parent
Participation, click
to indicate
the parent/guardian method of participation in the PGP process. If
the parent/guardian did not participate, select No Response or leave
blank.
Under Identified Risk Factors, a list of the student's additional risk factors is displayed, as identified by the district. The list can be updated, if allowed by the campus.
To add or update the list of risk factors, click Edit. A list of available risk factors is displayed under Available, and a list of risk factors selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select a risk
factor for the student, select the risk factor under Available,
and then click
to add it
to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each risk factor you want to select for the student.
You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT or CTRL buttons while selecting the items.
To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove a risk
factor that was selected for the student, select the risk factor under
Selected, and then click
to remove it from the list of selected risk
factors. You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the
SHIFT or CTRL
buttons while selecting the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Identified Risk Factors is updated with the risk factors selected for the student.
To add additional
comments regarding the risk factors, click
. The
Risk Factors Note dialog box opens allowing you to add comments. Click
Close to save the comments.

Under Persons Responsible, a list of persons responsible for the PGP is displayed, as identified by the district. The list can be updated, if allowed by the campus.
To add or update the list of persons responsible, click Edit. A list of available persons responsible is displayed under Available, and a list of persons responsible selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select a person
responsible for the student, select the person under Available,
and then click
to add the
name to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each person you want to select for the student.
You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT or CTRL buttons while selecting the items.
To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove a person
that was selected for the student, select the person under Selected,
and then click
to remove
the name from the list of selected persons. You can select multiple
items at one time by pressing the SHIFT
or CTRL buttons while selecting
the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Persons Responsible is updated with the persons selected for the student.
Under Evaluation Methods, a list of evaluation methods used for the PGP is displayed, as identified by the district. The list can be updated, if allowed by the campus.
To add or update the list of evaluation methods, click Edit. A list of available methods is displayed under Available, and a list of methods selected for the student is displayed under Selected.
To select an evaluation
method for the student, select the method under Available,
and then click
to add it
to the list under Selected.
Repeat for each method you want to select for the student.
You can select multiple items at one time by pressing the SHIFT or CTRL buttons while selecting the items.
To select multiple, contiguous items, press and hold the SHIFT button. Click the first and last items in the list you want to select.
To select multiple, non-contiguous items, press and hold the CTRL button. Click the items in the list you want to select.
To remove a method
that was selected for the student, select the method under Selected,
and then click
to remove
it from the list of selected methods. You can select multiple items
at one time by pressing the SHIFT
or CTRL buttons while selecting
the items, as described above.
Click OK. The list under Evaluation Methods is updated with the methods selected for the student.
Under PGP Comments, you can add and update general comments regarding the student's PGP, if allowed by the campus.
Under Dates, you can type dates marking milestones in the PGP process.
In the Developed field, type the date the PGP is created in the MMDDYYYY format.
In the Rev 1 field, type the date of the first review in the MMDDYYYY format.
In the Rev 2 field, type the date of the second review in the MMDDYYYY format.
In the Rev 3 field, type the date of the third review in the MMDDYYYY format.
In the Completed field, type the date the PGP is considered complete in the MMDDYYYY format.
Before you leave the page or select another student, you must save the data.
In the PIN field, type your four-digit PIN. The field is disabled for inquiry-only users.
Click Save.
If your changes were saved successfully, a message is displayed indicating that the PGP was saved successfully.
If you typed your PIN incorrectly, the system notifies you that you provided an invalid PIN. You must provide the correct PIN before you can continue.
To print the PGP data, select the print option from the Web browser's menu, and then print the page as you would print any page in a Web browser.
